So… I’ve got the site automatically posting any new swear words to our twitter.com profile now - sign up at twitter and add ’swearalotdotcom’ to your following list and you’ll get an SMS message automagically everytime someone adds a new swear to the site.

Think of the fun you could have down the pub with your mates with random swear words coming into your mobile every five minutes? Fucking brilliant or what?

So… we’ve been thinking about creating some swearalot merch, no I’m not talking about some crappy Cafepress bullshit with our logo on it, but some proper awesome shit!

Our first idea is one of those ‘word of the day’ desk calendars, only instead of interesting words or facts or any of that bollocks we’ll have a kick arse insult taken from the user submitted database for every single day of the year!

If you guys want it, we’re prepared to make it - all we need is some feedback, so answer us these simple questions:

• Would you buy a swearalot.com swear-a-day desk calendar?
• If so, how much would you be willing to pay for it?

We don’t care if the answer is yes or no - we just wanna know! Answers in the comments please…

Anyway, in other news: we’re disabling the pale colours to prevent eye bleedage and a voting system is in the pipeline. We’re also thinking of adding a daily random swearword email, but we’re not sure yet…

Just added RSS functionality to the front end - we now have feeds available for the top 10 and newest swears - if you have an RSS aware browser, just click the RSS button in your browser when you’re on the homepage - if not, the links are above!

Oh, and because I can - you can also see this info in the menu on this very blog! (look right dipshit!)

I’ve made a few changes to the main swearalot page (if you don’t know which one I’m talking about, it’s the one that randomly fucking swears at you - dumbass!). Anyway, I’ve re-arranged things a tad, mostly moving the logo to the top left and the menu under the main swear.

I’ve also made the swearword bold and used css to make the text look a nadge smarter. You may have also noticed the little linky that bought you to this page - yes, lo and behold, we have a development blog, where myself and the Gman (Greg) will be posting various updates to the site, along with interesting stats and out fave additions to the site.

I finally have the stats in from the first 24 hours since we started telling people about the site. We’ve recieved over 5,000 unique visits and over 90,000 page views. We’ve also had in excess of 1000 new swears added to the database (not including the nutter who added the phrase ‘Terry Wogan’ and ‘Billy Twatting Piper’) - not bad for the first day hey?

For those of you that are interested, here are the top ten most viewed swears from the DB so far:

Seriously… You guys, where the fuck are you getting all these phrases from? I haven’t heard such obscenities since I last went out on the piss with a Geordie!

Still… it fucking rocks - in the first 12 hours since we opened submissions to every tosspot and his dog, we’ve had in excess of 700 new phrases added to the bash! 700 twatting phrases!! Who’da thunkit?

We’ve got loads of new features planned for the future, including:

• an RSS feed Done!
• SMS Notifications (via twitter)
• Widgets for OSX and Windows Vista
• and loads more!

So, what started out as a bout of silliness between two work mates on a Friday afternoon, has turned into quite a sensation. We’re still a little overwhelmed by the response, and want to say a big thank you to www.b3ta.com for including us within their newsletter!
